Three arrested for forgery

GUWAHATI, March 29: The owner of a plot of land at SS Road, Fancy Bazar, Guwahati, his brother and a person fraudulently getting the power of attorney of the plot were arrested by Panbazar police on Thursday.

The owner of the land, Debashish Lahiri, did give the power of attorney of the plot to Jitumoni Sarma in 2016. When Sarma went to start construction at the plot, Md Afrush Julfi Khan stood before him as a roadblock with the claim of power of attorney shown to have given to him in 2015. Julfi moved the court with documents he had with him. It has been revealed in the court that all documents produced by Julfi are fake.  With Jitomoni filing a case (168/18) in Panbazar police station, the police arrested Lahiri, his brother Indranil Lahiri and Julfi.
