Traffic regulation in city for PM's visit

GUWAHATI, May 24:  With Prime Minister rendra Modi scheduled to visit the city on May 26; the police have made elaborate arrangements to regulate vehicle movement in Guwahati.

Amanjeet Kaur, DCP, Traffic said that Prime Minister’s convoy would enter the meeting venue at Khapara Veteriry Science College field through the Koidhara point. There shall be no other movement from this part of road.

The rally participants coming from Zoo Road side and GS Road side will be routed through Supermarket, Last Gate, B.N. Saikia Road will alight at Basistha Chariali and the vehicles will proceed further towards Basistha Mandir / Patarkuchi as per availability of parking.

All vehicles carrying participants coming from lower Assam side, after alighting the participants at the Tripura Goli point on tiol Highway 37 shall be guided to the parkings available to the eastern side of Khapara Veteriry field towards tiol Highway 37 and Greenwood Resort and towards Jorabat.

All vehicles carrying participants coming from Upper Assam side, after alighting the participants at Khapara Service Road and shall be directed as the parking along the tiol Highway 37.

The participants coming through their private LMVs from Guwahati shall not be allowed to bring vehicle beyond Sixmile flyover and Joyagar Chariali or Khapara Rotary.

All vehicles used for shifting the participants coming through the trains from Guwahati Railway Station, Panbazar and rengi Railway Station, rengi shall be allowed to ply through the GS Road and after alighting the participants at Sixmile vehicles shall be directed to Express Highway below Sixmile flyover.

The vehicles carrying participants coming from Kamakhya Railway Station, after alighting the participants at Basistha Chariali point on tiol Highway 37, shall be guided to the Basistha Mandir side.

General public coming PM’s programme at Sarusajai Stadium can park in Dakhin Gaon College, on both sides from Lokhara road to Petrol Pump and Udayan field Bihu ground.

No vehicles will be allowed from gates on tiol Highway. No vehicles will be allowed from gates on tiol highway. Public and officers can enter only from gate no2, near hockey stadium Bhetapara side.

Parking of vehicles will not be permitted on the road from the Main Entrance to the Research Gate point (Beltola-Khapara Road) and GS Road Sixmile flyover till Khapara and from Prison Gate to Koidhara Point and from Museum Point to AASC. No vehicle shall be allowed to park on the carriageway of NH way 37 from Khapara to Jalukbari. No vehicles shall be allowed to park on any service road from Airport to Khapara field.
