GUWAHATI, Nov 18: Want to be a past master on the faculty you are good at? Chances are high! For the first time in the Northeast, Electronic Sector Scheme Council of India (ESSCI) is holding a training session under four master trainers, all from Kolkata.
The training programme that began on November 16, 2017 at GATE Institute near AEI field at Chandmari, Guwahati will conclude on November 25. The master trainers have been guiding the trainees on various faculties they are good at and interesting in. Some of the important faculties are mobile repairing, repairing of home appliances, soft skills, beautician, embroidery and many more. One hundred and thirty candidates from Kolkata, Manipur, Tripura and Assam are taking part in the training. The candidates have already got their jobs in faculties they are good at. However, their fil confirmation is still awaited. The assessment that is going to be done in the last two days of the training has much to do with their confirmation of jobs. ESSCI has been giving the trainees free accommodation and food.
GATE Institute MD SD Hazarika said: “The government has numerous schemes. We need to go forward to avail the opportunities. There are many training partners in Assam that train jobless free of cost. The certificates eble the trainees to get placed well in their career, including in government departments and agencies.”
ESSCI subject matter expert (SME) Asok Mitra said: “Since it’s the first of its kind in the Northeast, we’re getting a good response. If we continue to get such response in the future as well, we’ll make it again to the region. Skill can be categorized as platform skill and domain skill. The trainees have to score 90 per cent marks in the assessment.”
