Twenty models to represent NE in tiol expo

GUWAHATI, Dec 17: Twenty of the 50 models on display at the CBSE regiol-level science exhibition that concluded today have been selected for the tiol-level CBSE Science Exhibition to be held in February, 2017. The best twenty models from Northeast will compete in the forthcoming tiol-level event.

The three-day-long science exhibition was held on the premises of NPS Intertiol School at Lokhora in the city.

Students from 37 schools of almost all the states of the Northeast took part in the event with 57 models.  Sainik School of galand, Delhi Public School of Dhaligaon, Army Public School rangi; NPS Intertiol School, Guwahati and others were adjudged as winners which  would take part in the CBSE tiol-Level Science Exhibition likely to be held in January/February 2017.

The theme of the just-concluded science exhibition was 'Science, Technology and Mathematics for tion Building'. The sub-themes of the event included health, industry, transport and communication, innovations in renewable resources for sustaible environment, innovations in food production and food security and mathematical solutions in everyday life.

Some of the prominent persolities, who were in the jury, were IIT Department of Chemistry and Head of Central Instruments Facility professor Dr G Krishmoorty, IIT Guwahati professor Dr Biman B Mandal, IIT Guwahati  department of Bio-Science and Bio Engineering Prof. Jagadish Chandra Deka,  Government of Assam Medical and Health Officer Donkamokam.

Addressing the concluding day function of the exhibition, noted educationist and Vice-Chancellor of Cotton College State University Dr Dhrubajyoti Saikia lauded the efforts of NPS Intertiol School for organizing the event. He also appreciated the efforts taken by the CBSE for overall development of students.
