Two children die of food-poisoning

GUWAHATI, Dec 16: Food-poisoning claimed two children – Md Hanif (4) and Sukuri Begum (6) – at Adabari in the city yesterday. Another girl, Sarif Begum (9), is battling for life at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). According to sources, the three had almond, plum power and Amul milk yesterday. They had stomach pain, besides vomiting. Soon the 108 was called by their guardians – Gaji Ali and his sister — and they were taken to the Aurvedic College at Jalukbari, where two of them breathed their last. The third child was soon sent to the GMCH in a serious condition. After the post-mortem the police started the investigation.
