GUWAHATI, March 12: Two poetry collections – Kanchiyoli by Umesh Chandra Sarma and Uki by Jitu Sarma – were released at Palasbari on Sunday. While the former was released by noted writer Moi Goswami, the latter was released by poet Swapli Saikia. Balen Choudhury compered the function that started with the welcome address by Indrani Devi. Releasing the book, Goswami said: “Poetry is also food for the man. Every person is a poet, but lack of atmosphere does not allow his/her poetic talent to bloom.” Swapli Saikia said: “Poetry enlightens people’s minds, hearts and dreams even when they’re in darkness.”
