ULFA warns Madani

BY OUR STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Nov14: Reacting to Jamiat-Ulama-e-Hind president Maula Arshad Madani’s statement on NRC update vis-à-vis Muslims not figuring in the citizenship document, the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) said that it was not going to bear with anyone trying to put hindrance in NRC update in Assam.

Speaking to this reporter, senior ULFA leader Mril Hazarika said, “Some religious fundamentalists are out to run religious business in this region in order to disturb peace. We warn Arshad Madani not to disturb peace in the region. We want a rightful NRC, and no religious interference in it will be tolerated.” “We condemn the comment made by Zakir ik on the  ULFA as Hindutwavadi organization. We have martyrs of all religions in the ULFA who died for the cause of Assam. We also treat AAMSU president Azizur Rehman as an Assamese. Our first identity is Assamese, and we’re not ready to compromise on that,” Hazarika added.
