Union minister Athawale meets Governor

Guwahati, April 27: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale called on the Governor of Assam Shri Banwarilal Purohit at Raj Bhavan this evening and discussed several development issues concerning Assam, stated a press release. Athawale apprised the Governor of the initiatives that the Centre has been taking for the welfare and social development of all sections of the people of the State.   He also informed the Governor that his ministry is on the verge of taking several programmes for the uplift of the economically down trodden sections of the society. Governor Purohit while acknowledging several steps of the centre for ensuring social security of the weaker sections of the people requested the Union Minister to take up projects for the all round development of women, children and the differently-abled persons in the State.
