UPA recipe on NDA plate: Ajmal on Union Budget

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Feb 29: AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal said that the Union Budget announced by Union Fince Minister Arun Jaitley today is ‘disappointing’ which is nothing but a ‘token populism’.

Reacting to the Union Budget today, Ajmal said: “There’re big ideas for agriculture and farmers. The question hinges on as to how the government will implement them. The Union Fince Minister said that the farmers’ income would double after 2022. How will the Government fulfill all these tall promises after 2019? Modi mocked the UPA for including MNREGA, and Ahdhar got huge boost in the Budget. The NDA has adopted many old policies of the UPA. This Budget is a UPA recipe on NDA plate. Unfortutely, this budget has ignored defence and education sectors.”

Ajmal further said that the Budget has proved that the Government at the Centre is losing its nerves and grip on commoners after polarizing society. “The Budget has nothing special for the Northeast and the minorities as expected. This can’t be called a good Budget,” he said.
