USTM convocation

GUWAHATI, June 5: Three vice chancellors of the oldest universities in India – BHU VC Prof. Girish Chandra Tripathi, University of Calcutta VC Prof. Ashotosh Ghosh and Prof. Sanjay V Deshmukh of University of Mumbai -- are going to grace the second convocation of University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) slated for June 10. USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque said that the VCs of the three oldest universities in the country would share the same platform at USTM Techno City Campus to exchange their ideas, tales of their legacy and heritage. Sources from the university authority said that USTM is going to confer honorary Doctor of Science to Prof. Mihir Kanti Chaudhuri, former Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, and honorary D. Litt on Dr. D D Lapang, former Meghalaya Chief Minister.
