Vasectomy fortnight from Nov 21

GUWAHATI, Nov 18:  The World Vasectomy Day was observed on Friday in rest of the World. However, Assam is going to observe the occasion from November 21 to December 4, 2017 so as to give the crusade being carried on in the State by the likes of Dr Illias Ali a decisive push.
Briefing newsmen here, Dr. Ali read out the slogan of the crusade he has been devoted to: “Daiboddhota hol hei purushor siki, poriyal porikolpore ji dekhuai saneki (an accountable male is one who sets a trend by adopting family planning. A massive drive for promotion of vasectomy will be carried out in the State from November 21 to 27, 2017 in all nooks and corners of Assam. From November 28 to December 4, No-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) treatment will go on.”
Dr Ali said: “It is seen that people don’t come forward for vasectomy. They should come forward for this as it is not so hard. It takes just ten minutes, without any surgery. Vasectomy is very important for society. The sale of condom percentage is increasing.”  
The world population is over 760 crore and set to be 980 crore by 2050. The population of India is 134 crore, set to be 150 crore by 2030. According to the UNO, India is set to overtake Chi on population in 2024 with an estimated population of 144 crore. With Chi laying more stress on population control, its population in 2050 will be 135 crore against 166 crore of India – a situation that will have much to do with socio-economic scerio in the country.
