According to traders of Fancy Bazar vegetable wholesale market, the Shillong carrot, which was sold at Rs 40 a kg till a month back in Guwahati, is now sold at Rs 80-100 a kg. “Now cabbage is sold in Guwahati at Rs 100-120 a kg, pea with pod at Rs 320-350 a kg, capsicum at Rs 100-120, radish at Rs 40-50 a kg, squash at Rs 40-50 a kg,” wholesalers at Fancy Bazar said, and added: “So long local products are not available in Guwahati, there’s no chance of the prices coming down.”
