Victim's widow gets job

GUWAHATI, July 18: Assam Government has appointed Rijumoni Pator, widow of Mintu Deori who was killed in the recent police firing incident at Raha in support of the demand for setting up the proposed AIIMS at Raha, as a Grade 4 staff under gaon DC’s amalgamated establishment and posted to the office of the Circle Office, Raha.

Following a directive from Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, Central Assam Commissioner Mehtab Uddin Ahmed went to the house of Deori and handed over the appointment letter to her in the presence of gaon DC and SP, and Raha MLA Dimbeswar Das. The victim’s family got a cheque of Rs 5 lakh yesterday. Today, a cheque of Rs 50,000 was handed over to Prabhat Konwar for his injured brother Jitumoni Konwar. Jitumoni has been shifted to the GMCH for better treatment.

 Tomorrow there will be a discussion between the AIIMS Demand Committee with the government at Guwahati.
