Vidya Bharati felicitates 2 educationists

GUWAHATI, Nov 19: Vidya Bharati, North Eastern Zone has felicitated two noted persolities from Assam – Debadas Sinha and Binita Bhagawati – for their distinguished contribution to the spread of education in the region.   

Sinha has been associated with Vidya Bharati since in 1982. His contribution to the spread of education through Vidya Bharati schools is immense. The felicitation was based on his role in education.

Jalukbari Sanskrit College Principal Binita Bhagawati, on the other hand, was felicitated for her research on Vidya Bharati schools and Education.

When asked, Sinha said: “There are as many as 623 Vidya Bharati Schools in the Northeast with an enrollment of 1.88 lakh students. In Assam there are 523 Vidya Bharati schools, including over 300 high schools, with an enrollment of 1.66 lakh students. The role of Vidya Bharati in education in Assam is great. Our students become toppers in HSLC examitions.”

The function was presided over by Vidya Bharati’s North East Zone president Dr. Jay Kanta Sarma.

Each of the awards carries a citation, a xorai, a cheleng chador and a bunch of books.
