Village electrification: BJP hits back at Congress

 STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, May 5: In an effort to rubbish the Opposition Congress’ criticism on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent twit, State BJP spokesperson Rupam Goswami in a statement alleged that during the tenure of State’s former power minister Pradyut Bordoloi at least 12,000 bamboo posts were erected in the name of extending village electrification. “Risking of such erroneous practice resulted in electrocuting a number of innocence lives across the State,” Goswami said.
Taking a further dig at Saikia’s proclamation, Goswami asserted that every post manifested an episode of corruption occurred during the Congress regime. Reminding the Congress of the earlier scheme viz. RGGVY which has been subsumed in the BJP regime’s new DDUGJY, Goswami said, “Congress did not even spare the name of Rajiv Gandhi while resorting to wide spread corruption in bringing the villages under the national power grid.”
He stressed that over the last 15 years in power, the Congress simply indulged in corruption, treason and divisive politics which had eventually ruined the economy. “As soon as the Sonowal Cabinet resumed office, stability has been brought back to every bid of affairs which is visibly exasperating the Congress,” the spokesperson added.
