When art speaks beyond puja!

GUWAHATI, Sept 24: A display of art very sensitive to environment is what the Durga Puja of yantara Club is going to depict this year.

The idol has been made at Pandu in Guwahati. Pandal making artists who are out to display their artistic excellence are from Kolkata. Their display is based more on electronic gadgets. Illumition alone is set to cost the puja committee around Rs 4.50 lakh. The total budget of the puja this year is Rs 12 lakh, against Rs 15 lakh last year. This is the 28th puja the committee is going to hold.

Meanwhile, the Santipur Sluice Gate Durga Puja committee has both idol maker and light artists from West Bengal. Their budget this year is Rs 16 lakh. This is their 19th Durga Puja. Their pandal depicts a Pura Haveli (mansion of evil) from which the Goddess is shown as coming out.
