Women bodies protest rape and killing of teacher

GUWAHATI, June 5: As many as four women organizations – Asom Mahila Sangha, Sadou Asom Pragatisheel ri Santha, Northeast Network and YWCA – staged a dhar at Dighalipukhuripar in the city in protest against the brutal rape and murder of a school teacher, Arnomai Bora, at Jamumukh recently. They condemned the negligence on the part of the police as four incidents of crimes against women took place in the State within two weeks. They demanded of the police to speed up their investigation to punish the culprits so that no such incidents take place in the future.
