Women entrepreneurs from this region have played a major role for the growth of economy in the north-eastern region. They are primarily engaged in conventiol sectors like sericulture, handloom & handicrafts, food processing, beauty and wellness sector etc. Even though successive governments have formulated various schemes for the uplift of women entrepreneurs, it is observed that the benefits of these schemes do not percolate to every nook and corner of the region either due to remoteness of the area or due to lack of awareness.
The semir is aimed at creating awareness amongst the women entrepreneurs of the region, regarding resources, technology, environment, policy support & facilities available to them, besides discussing on access to fince for women entrepreneurs.
The semir will be iugurated at 10-30 am by State Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi. MLA Angoorlata Deka has agreed to grace the occasion as the guest of honour.
