GUWAHATI, April 21: Swadhin ri Shakti (SNS), an organization, has said that it is going to keep a watch on the funds being spent from the State exchequer. The tool they are going to use to get their job done is RTI.

Talking to newsmen on the road near Dighalipukhuri in the city today, SNS leaders said: “Apart from women emancipation, we’re going to keep watch on the use of the State exchequer, say for mami Brahmaputra, spending Rs 1.5 crore for making Priyanka Chopra the brand ambassador of the State Tourism Department, and the like. Dispur should provide job to at least a woman from a family based on their educatiol qualifications. If liquor can be banned in Bihar, why can’t it be done in Assam. The State Government should ban liquor in the State, and if they can’t do it, we’ll be out with canes in our hands. Dispur should have its control over the high rates of fees being charged by private schools in the State.”
