Workshop held on drama as teaching tool

GUWAHATI, April 9: A workshop entitled ‘Drama in the Classroom’ was held at Smart Institute of Learning in Guwahati on Saturday by education consultant Reshma NC Shah.

It was attended by preschool and primary teachers. Shah spoke about how drama is used as an effective teaching tool in Singapore and the USA. She taught the participants as to how drama can help in teaching concepts from science and mathematics, apart from language or history, to make the class interesting. She said that classroom learning could be made engaging through drama to help develop a child’s understanding of different concepts. The workshop held was part of a series of workshops designed by Shah to ‘bring back the joy of teaching’, stated a press release.
