Workshop on climate resilient agriculture

GUWAHATI, Oct 24: A diverse group of stakeholders of the Agriculture sector in the State are meeting at a half-day inception workshop on October 25, 2016 at Guwahati to discuss the key issues and challenges of the sector in the State.

There will also be a discussion on the importance of value chain alysis in the context of climate change. The programme is organizing an inception workshop on ‘Development Climate Resilient Agriculture through Value Chain Approach’ in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Assam on October 25, 2016 at a city hotel from 10 am. The workshop will be attended by senior officials from State Agriculture and Horticulture Departments and other line departments working on agriculture production, marketing and distribution, Directorate of Agriculture, Directorate of Horticulture, agricultural research and academic organisations, civil society organisations working in the field of agriculture, agricultural experts and delegates from CCIP office in New Delhi and Assam. This workshop is the first event in the series of activities planned to be held under the initiative of the Climate Change Innovation Programme (CCIP), aimed at developing climate resilience in the agricultural sector of the state.
