Workshop on disaster preparedness on Sept 19

GUWAHATI, Sept 15: The Assam State Disaster Magement Authority (ASDMA) is going to hold a daylong workshop on ‘Disaster Preparedness in Hotels, Cinema Halls and Shopping Malls’ at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati on September 19, 2017. The workshop is being organized in association with the District Disaster Magement Authority, Kamrup Metro.

The workshop is first of its kinds in the State keeping in view safety and security concerns in hotels, cinema halls and shopping malls. Hotels are soft targets for terrorists, and the incident of terrorist attack on Hotel Taj in Mumbai is still fresh in people’s minds. In hospitality and entertainment industries and shopping malls safety and securities are most important. Stampede, fire incidents, earthquakes, man-made crisis like terrorist attacks, power outage are threats for such industries.          

The workshop is going to throw light on all such issues.
