Workshop on private sector in TB held

GUWAHATI, June 20: A capacity-building workshop on public-private mix and strengthening private sector engagement in tuberculosis (TB) was held in the city recently. The workshop was organized by REACH, a non-profit organization and the State Tuberculosis Cell of Department of Health Services, Assam. The workshop focused on reviewing the scope of private sector engagement in TB and training participants on the objectives of the call to action project, being implemented by REACH in Assam. Participants shared experiences and good practices on public private mix across the state, discussed the pharmacy model for private partnership and other approaches to engage private sectors in TB. The participants discussed ways to strengthen the interaction and cooperation among the different agencies and sectors working on this issue in their respective districts.
