World Coconut Day observed

GUWAHATI, Sept 5: Coconut Development Board regiol office, Guwahati, in collaboration with DSP farm Abhayapuri, Bongaigaon and DSP farm from Hichachara, Tripura celebrated the World Coconut Day on September 2 with the theme ‘A Healthy Life with the Coconut’ at the Rubber Board complex, Guwahati.  State Agriculture Commissioner-Secretary Amlal Baruah was the chief guest at the function. He laid stress on commercial cultivation of coconut in a scientific method with quality planting materials in Assam for economic uplift of farmers in the State, a press release said.
