Writers brainstorm on themes of stories

GUWAHATI, Jan 28: The fact that Assamese readers lost taste in so far as reading material is concerned, the need of practice in writing, source of stories is among the myriad topics that have been discussed in an interaction session - 'Contemporary Assamese Writings' at Tagore Hall at Brahmaputra Literary Festival.

Writer Kula Saikia said that the moto behind writing should be the tryout of digging out the best of something. "The number of sale in copies of a certain book cannot determine the best in quality of the book," Saikia said.

Imran Hussain said that alysis is necessary before starting a story. There is a need to practice writing. New literature with profound content is always welcome. "Writers can also be inspired from others' experience along with by their own," Hussain added.

The interactive session further discussed the fall in numbers of readers in Assamese. The writers also maintained that if there is fall in creativity there will be fall in number of readers in so far Assamese literature is concerned.

The writers also pointed out that stories can be made from every topic and get inspired from anywhere like the kinds of writer like Sourav Saliha.
