Youth round table on Human Rights organized

GUWAHATI, April 28: North East Youth Foundation (NEYF) in association with North East Dialogue Forum organized a youth round table on human rights to discuss issues related to human rights recently, a press release informed.
The round table discussed violations of human rights by different actors and how young people may take part in upholding human rights for all. It discussed about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other constitutiol rights in the country. It has been felt that many young people are not aware of different rights. Issues like right to education, consumer rights were also discussed. It has been decided to conduct human rights awareness programme in different colleges apart from other educatiol institutions to sensitize young people on human rights. NEYF would conduct awareness programme along with ‘Quiz on Human Rights’ amongst young people in different parts north east in coming days.
The release further informed that, a law unit would be formed by NEYF by selecting students from different campuses after organizing awareness programme in different law colleges in particular and other institutes in general.
The round table was attended by law students, lawyers and social activists, the release added.
