YTD demands action against corrupt officials

GUWAHATI, July 4: Expressing serious concern over, overloading of trucks, the Youth Truck Development has called meeting of various truck associations on July 7.

It needs to be mentioned that, earlier several organizations and associations had a meeting with the transport officials as well as administrative officials and urged them to take action against overloaded trucks.

There is a Supreme Court ruling, terming overloading of trucks as an illegal practice. Citing the Supreme Court ruling, the Youth Truck Development on Saturday alleged that some corrupt junior officers of the transport department are breaching the Apex Court ruling by allowing overloaded trucks to ply on the road, after taking bribe. In a press release the organization alleged that despite its assurance, the district administration has failed to keep a track on overloaded trucks.
