6-month old becomes youngest water skier in world, mixed reaction from netizens

Utah: Rich Casey Humpherys, a six-month-old baby boy from the US state of Utah, has set a world record last week by becoming the youngest water skier in the world. A picture and a video of Rich water-skiing were posted by his parents Casey and Mini Humpherys with a caption saying, ''I went water skiing for my 6 month birthday. Apparently that's a big deal #worldrecord."

In the video, the infant can be seen wearing a life jacket and holding onto a bar-topped board as he is gently pulled across Lake Powell.

The video went viral soon after it was posted on Instagram and people are marvelled at the baby's skill. However, a section of the netizens isn't pleased about it and were absolutely against the parents for letting their baby participate in such a ''dangerous act''.

While some felt Rich was too young to go for water skiing, others said the baby was with his father and seemed to be following all safety norms.

"This is child endangerment. Do not clap," one Twitter user wrote, while another remarked, "It looks cute and all but it could be dangerous too."

The viral footage has garnered thousands of views and comments on Instagram. On Twitter, one version of the video has registered a whopping 7.6 million views.
