MUMBAI: India will hold Miss World 2023 at the end of this year, 27 years after the country hosted the beauty pageant. The Miss India Organisation stated that choosing India as the host country this year honors the country's rich cultural legacy, commitment to encouraging diversity, and passion for empowering women.

Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska and Miss India World 2022 Sini Shetty accompanied the organizers to the press conference in New Delhi on Thursday. It was Bielawska's second trip to Poland.

Bielawska was crowned Miss World 2022 after defeating competitors from various nations in the competition held in Puerto Rico. Manasa Varanasi of India was among the top 13 contestants.

Sini Shetty who will represent India said that, “I am so eager to meet all of my sisters from around the world and welcome them to India to show them what India actually stands for, what India is, and how diverse India is... I am quite enthusiastic and looking forward to this adventure. I hope you have a wonderful time in India.”

Julia Morley, chairperson and CEO of Miss World organization at a press conference on Thursday said that “The 71st Miss World 2023 will highlight the accomplishments of 130 national winners throughout their one-month trip across 'Incredible India' as we offer the 71st and most stunning Miss World final ever.”

After nearly three decades, India will host the Miss World 2023 pageant. The much-anticipated 71st Miss World competition is expected to take place in November of this year. However, the event's final dates have yet to be determined.

The month-long event, which will feature entrants from over 130 nations, will include a variety of demanding events such as talent showcases, sporting challenges, and philanthropic projects geared at emphasising the traits that make these competitors change ambassadors.
