American Man Hires Woman Only To Slap Him Every Time He Uses Facebook

NEW YORK: Maneesh Sethi, an Indian-American entrepreneur and computer programmer hired a woman named Klara from Craigslist advertisements to slap him every time on opening Facebook.

According to reports, he hired Klara for USD 8 and Rupees 595 approximately per hour so that she can help him cut down his Facebook usage.

On Wednesday 10 November a Twitter handler shared this story of Sethi on the micro-blogging site which went crazy viral in a few hours with more than 11,400 likes. This slap experiment is initiated by Sethi with the purpose of improving his work productivity which is affected by his continuous use of Facebook and addiction to social media sites.

According to sources, Sethi apparently realized that he was spending close to 30 hours a week on Facebook and other social media platforms which took over 38 percent of his workweek. During his experiment of hiring slapper, Sethi got slapped many times by the professional slapper, Klara who sat beside him during his work time and slaps whenever he gets distracted. After hiring Klara, Sethi said that he has experienced a positive change in work as his productivity increased by 98 percent.

Maneesh Sethi has now gained much attention across the world for his Craigslist advertisement asking for a slapper that he posted back in 2012. A tweet that shows Sethi's search for a solution to excessive social media addiction was noticed by Tesla and the CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, who reacted to the post. And nine years after his posting the tweet his peculiar act now spreads in social media after reaction on it by Elon Musk using two 'fire' emojis, injecting new life into the stunt.

Apart from being an entrepreneur and a computer programmer, Sethi belongs to San Francisco is also a blogger. He is the founder of wearable devices brand Pavlok.
