Assamese Origin Nebraska Teen Faron Medhi Wins Miss Teen USA 2022 Title

RENO, USA: On Saturday, Faron Medhi, who represented Nebraska, was crowned as  Miss Teen USA 2022 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada.

Reportedly, Faron Medhi has her roots in Assam. She was born to Gautam Medhi, who hails from Assam's Guwahati. He shifted to the United States in the year 1989.

Her win comes off as the first win from Nebraska since 1983 for the title Miss Teen USA. Faron Medhi is a 18-year-old high school graduate and model, hailing from Omaha.

The other four among the five finalists were Jenna Beckstrom of Idaho, the first runner-up, Cassidy Hill of California, Second runner-up, Isabella Mosqueda of Michigan, the third runner-up and McKinley Farese of Tennesse as the fourth runner-up.

Among the top 16 finalists were : Arizona (Maya Denise Gaskin), Florida (Alyssa Khan), Georgia (Courtney Ianna Smith), Hawaii (Malulani Paiste), Iowa (Marisa Mathson), Kansas (Gracie Hendrickson), Nevada (Janae McIntosh), North Carolina (Gabriela Ortega), Ohio (Kylan Darnell), Oklahoma (Haleigh Hurst), and Wisconsin (Sage Gundelly).

The event also awarded some special prizes. The Fan Favorite award was won by Ohio's Kylan Darnell. On the other hand North Carolina's Gabriella Ortega and Nevada's Janae McIntosh bagged the Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality prizes respectively.

Elle Smith of Kentucky, the winner of Miss USA 2021, and FYI correspondent Christian Murphy hosted this year's Miss Teen USA pageant.

The judge panel comprised of Former Miss Teen USA winners Keylee Sanders Helmich and Kaliegh Garris, along with Puerto Rican makeup artist Allan Aponte, American public affairs consultant Bob Hartnagel, chief commercial officer of SeneGence Anita Krpata, and TV host Tanya Memme, who is also former Miss World Canada.

Faron Medhi, the new Miss Teen USA graduated from Millard North High School. Notably, she was active in various clubs in her school. After her graduation participated in the Miss Nebraska Teen USA competition and won on March 6 in Omaha. The model is expected to attend the Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona to pursue biology this summer. She is also a talented dancer, apart from being a model.
