Betty White Dies at 99: A Peek at the Distinctive Style of the 'Golden Girls' Star

Betty White, the famed Emmy-winning TV actress who starred in shows including The Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, died only weeks before her 100th birthday at the age of 99.

"Even though Betty was going to reach 100, I assumed she'd live forever," Betty's agent, Jeff Witjas, told People magazine. With a career spanning more than eight decades and awards including eight Emmys, one Grammy, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards, US President Joe Biden branded her a "cultural icon," encouraging generations of young women to achieve their dreams.

White was not just a terrific singer, but also a fashion icon, with attire that reflected her personality by being loud and vibrant. As we mourn the late actress, let's take a look at her distinct style. White accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in a stunning black gown with a matching jacket with patterned white lines all over. A dainty neckpiece and a pair of striking white earrings completed her look.

She accepted the award for Favorite TV Icon at the 2015 People's Choice Awards, wearing a flared black top and matching pants. Her look was completed by a dazzling teal blue blazer.

At the premiere of her film Bringing Down the House in 2003, she wore a white-collared black dress with transparent sleeves. Her look was finished off with a gold brooch and golden studs. This outfit is still fashionable after 19 years!

Betty was a sucker for bright colours and glitz. She attended the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in a pair of light blue co-ords with a glittering white jacket. The look was completed with the addition of diamond accessories.

She looked like a true diva on her 90th birthday, dressed in a stunning blue gown with brilliant white sleeves. She finished off her look with a pair of blingy shoes and a pair of diamond earrings. She was a step ahead of the pack in the sartorial competition from the outset. In this 1981 photograph taken at the Emmy Awards, she wears a white balloon top with black pants. An elaborate blue belt added a splash of colour to this monotone suit.

Betty's style was elegant, timeless, and timeless, and she never failed to dazzle. She nailed her business-casual look with khaki brown slacks, a blue shirt, and golden shoes.
