British Lawmaker Resigns After He Was Caught Watching Porn In Parliament

New Delhi: A British Lawmaker has resigned after admitting that he twice viewed pornography on his phone in the House of Commons.

The lawmaker named Neil Parish, is a member of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party.

Parish, who was elected MP from Tiverton and Honiton, UK, after announcing his resignation, said that it was his madness and he is not proud of what he did.

According to him, he was scanning a website related to tractors, but unknowingly he clicked on a link which directed him to a porn website, but the second time he did it intentionally. Following this, two female colleagues complained against him, which eventually led to his suspension.

''I was looking at the tractor's website. During this, a website similar to the same name appeared. After that I saw this website for some time which I should not have done. But my biggest crime is that I went to that website for the second time. The second time I did it intentionally. I was wrong, I was stupid, I had lost my mind,'' he told BBC.

Parish further said under heavy pressure, he changed his mind and resigned. After his resignation, by-elections will be held for Tiverton and Honiton parliamentary seats.

Neil Parish is a senior leader of the British Conservative Party. The 65-year-old Parish has been a constant MP since 2010. He was a member of the European Parliament from South West England from 1999 to 2009. He dropped out of school at the age of 16 to take care of his family farm.

In 2000, he was appointed as an observer during the Zimbabwean parliamentary election.
