Elvis Presley's Daughter Lisa Marie Presley Dies At 54

WASHINGTON: After a medical emergency and a brief hospitalisation, Lisa Marie Presley, the singer-songwriter and only child of Elvis Presley, passed away on Thursday. She was 54.

According to a statement from Sam Mast, Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla Presley, and the Presley family, "Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are horrified and grieved by the untimely death of their darling Lisa Marie." "They really appreciate everyone's love, support, and prayers and ask for privacy during this extremely trying time."

In a statement earlier that day, Priscilla Presley mentioned that her daughter had been receiving medical care but she did not provide any other details.

As the famous musician's daughter, Ms. Presley pursued a career similar to that of her father, Elvis Presley. She produced three albums, each of which aimed to showcase her unique rock style and pay homage to the man who forever altered the American musical landscape by fusing blues, gospel, pop, and country.

Her entire life, the great legacy of her father was with her. At the Golden Globes on Tuesday, she was once more honouring her father, telling the media that Austin Butler, who took home the lead acting prize for drama for his work in Baz Luhrmann's biopic "Elvis," had portrayed her father's character to a tee.

As a 9-year-old when her father passed away in 1977, Ms. Presley remarked, "I was mind-blown, genuinely." Considering how accurate and genuine that was, it took me about five days to comprehend it.

Elvis flew his daughter up to Idaho once because she said she had never seen snow, and the father and daughter had a very close relationship. Her father gave the nickname "the Lisa Marie" to his 1958 Convair 880 private plane.

Graceland and her late father's possessions belonged to Ms. Presley. Her share in Elvis Presley Enterprises was 15%.

But unlike her father, who had a meteoric rise to fame in music, she never did. However, his influence may be heard in several of her words and songs. In the bluesy, depressing song "Lights Out" from her 2003 debut album "To Whom It May Concern," she sings that "someone turned the lights out there in Memphis. My family is buried and deceased there.

She participated in the co-production of an album honouring Elvis Presley's devotion to gospel music in 2018 and sang alongside a recording of him on one of the songs.
