Imran Khan To Play Till Last Ball As He Refuses To Resign

New Delhi: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is facing a no-confidence motion, on Thursday, refused to resign and alleged that there is a foreign conspiracy working against his government.

''We are getting messages from some foreign countries. They are saying that they will forgive Pakistan if Imran Khan goes,'' he said while addressing the nation on Thursday evening.

''Those who used to play cricket with me, have seen that I fight till the last ball. I never gave up in life. Whatever the outcome, I will come out stronger after that,'' he added.

He further said that Pakistan is against terrorism and the tribal areas are aware of it.

''I am neither anti-Hindustan nor anti-America. I have many friends in India and America. I am only critical of his policies,'' he said.

He asserted that if we don't support America it will not be good for us.

''During 9/11 we said that if there is any terrorist incident in America then we should help them but this was not our fight. It was Parvez Musharraf's big mistake to be an advocate of America, I am in favor of a free foreign policy,'' he avowed.

He also accused former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi secretly.

''I will not sit silent, I have fought all my life, Allah has advised me to do this. I have reached after a struggle, I will not allow this conspiracy to succeed at any cost,'' he added.

Notably, Khan on Wednesday lost his majority in parliament after his party's major ally -- Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQMP) -- extended support to the opposition Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

As per reports, with this development, the opposition in Pakistan now has 175 members.

In order to make the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister successful, Pakistan's joint opposition requires the support of 172 MNAs.

The Pakistani National Assembly has a total strength of 342 members, and the majority mark is 172. The PTI-led coalition was formed with the support of 179 members, but now, after MQM-P left the party, PTI is standing with 164 members in support and the Opposition has now 177 members of supporters in the national assembly and they don't need the support of disgruntled PTI MNAs.
