A Mobster Of Indian Origin Killed At A Wedding Ceremony In Vancouver

CANADA: In Vancouver, Canada, unidentified assailants shot and killed a 28-year-old man of Punjabi descent at a wedding location. He was killed due to gang conflict, which has been determined to be the cause.

Amarpreet (Chucky) Samra was reportedly dancing with other wedding guests at Fraserview Banquet Hall less than 30 minutes prior to being shot on Fraser Street shortly before 1:30 am, according to accounts in the local newspaper Vancouver Sun.

At the wedding, both Samra and his mobster older brother Ravinder were invited as guests. They were on the UN Gang's side. A few attendees told reporters that unidentified males had entered the room again and ordered the DJ to stop playing music. At the time, there were about 60 visitors at the location.

A 28-year-old man was shot this morning, and according to a statement from Vancouver Police, they are looking into his homicide.

"Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported one man had been shot outside a South Vancouver banquet hall near Fraser Street and South East Marine Drive at 1:30 a.m. Patrol officers performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived, but he died from his injuries," the statement reads.

Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting related to the ongoing gang conflict. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist investigators is asked to call the Vancouver Police Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500, it further reads.

The continuous gang conflict, according to investigators, is the reason for this shooting. It is still being looked into. The Vancouver Police Homicide Unit can be reached at 604-717-2500 if you have any information that could help the investigation.

Police in Canada issued an unusual alert in August 2022 on 11 men who were allegedly involved in gang violence on a very high level. Public safety officials have issued a warning not to approach them. Nine of the 11 persons identified in the alert were from Punjab, including Amarpreet and his brother Ravinder. The British Columbia Police claimed that they were connected to a number of murders and shootings that took place in the province. The public was urged to stay away from them.
