Israel PM Naftali Bennett Meets Putin Amid Ukraine Crisis

New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on Saturday to discuss the Ukraine crisis.

According to reports, Israel has offered to mediate in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, though officials have previously played down expectations of a breakthrough.

The reports further claimed that the country has also condemned the Russian invasion, voiced solidarity with Kyiv and sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Israel has also asserted that it will maintain communications with Moscow in the hope of helping to ease the crisis.

Interestingly, Israel is also aware of Moscow's military support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Bennett, a religious Jew, took a flight in violation of Sabbath law because Judaism permits this when the aim is to preserve human life, his spokesperson said.

It's been 10 days since Russia launched an attack on Ukraine. So far, two rounds of talks have also taken place between the two countries, but the outcome of the talks has been inconclusive.
