Israeli Scientists close to discover COVID-19 vaccine, claims Defence Minister

Sending a ray of hope, Israel has claimed that its scientists are about to discover a vaccine for COVID-19. As per reports, Israel scientists have isolated a key coronavirus antibody at its primary biological research centre, According to Defence Minister Naftali Bennett it is a "significant breakthrough" towards a possible treatment for Covid-19. The Defence Minister informed media that the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) has developed a "monoclonal neutralising antibody" and it could attack and neutralise the virus inside the carrier's body. In scientific study monoclonal antibodies are cloned from a single recovered cell. Thus, they are much easier to create and use unlike the polyclonal antibodies which will have to be derived from multiple cells. However, it is unclear if the vaccine has been tested on humans.

Despite that the message of the Israeli Defence Minister has sent a great hope when the world is trying hard to tide over the corona pandemic.

According to medical scientists, in typical antibody vaccines, neutralization occurs when the laboratory-developed antibodies mimic the body's natural immune response and attack the virus when exposed to it.
