"It Takes Two" Wins Game of the Year, at Game Awards 2021

NEW DELHI: The Game Awards 2021 was an award event that recognized the finest video games released in the year 2021. On December 9, 2021, Geoff Keighley conducted an event for an invited crowd at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Game Awards 2021 is the most recent edition of a yearly event that expands in magnitude and grandeur with each passing year.

While the event began as a celebration of the finest PC and Xbox games of the year, it has since expanded to include game announcements from a variety of publishers and studios. This year's expo was huge, with a slew of announcements and changes that foreshadow the future of video gaming in the coming year.

It takes two, It Takes Two, Josef Fares' co-op action-adventure game about a couple going through a divorce, was named Game of the Year at the event.

Fares congratulated his Stockholm-based company Hazelight Studios (and dabbled in profanity that would have gotten him fired if it had been broadcast on conventional TV) in his winning speech. It Takes Two and the popular and acclaimed racing game Forza Horizon 5 tied for the most honours at The Game Awards 2021 (three each), with the latter's publisher, Xbox Game Studios, finishing as the night's most successful publisher.

Sydnee Goodman hosted the pre-show ceremony. The event was broadcast live on more than 40 different digital platforms. Imagine Dragons, JID, Darren Korb, and Sting performed musical numbers, and celebrity guests Reggie Fils-Aimé, Keanu Reeves, Ben Schwartz, and Ming-Na Wen gave speeches.

During The Game Awards 2021, apart from the winners, there were a lot of various announcements, Brand-new gaming projects, updates on highly-anticipated upcoming titles, and a few additional announcements that are the highlights of the event

In conjunction with Lucasfilm Games, Quantic Dream is developing Star Wars Eclipse, a new Star Wars game. Star Wars Eclipse will be set in the High Republic and will have many playable characters as well as a branching storey. Because it's still in the early stages of development, it may be a while before it's released.

Monolith Productions, the creators of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, are working on a Wonder Woman game titled Wonder Woman. Apart from a dramatic closeup of the main lady herself, the brief teaser revealed little about the game.

Wake 2 will be released in 2023, and the trailer gave us all a great scare. Alan Wake 2 will be Remedy's first survival horror game, ten years after the last Alan Wake game, which was an action game.

In 2022 The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, NACON and entertainment will be released. The game finally allows users to play as both Gollum and Sméagol in the Lord of the Rings universe.

Star Trek: Resurgence is a "third-person choice-driven" game set in the Star Trek world that will be released in 2022 by Dramatic Labs, a Telltale Games veteran studio

Nightingale, a survival game set in a fantastical Victorian era, comes from Improbable's Edmonton team, currently known as Inflexion Games. In a "shared universe," there are terrible monsters with grotesque human faces once more. Next year, Nightingale will be available in early access for Windows PC.
