Kim Jong-un the Supreme leader of East Asian country, North Korean turns a year older today on Saturday 8 January 2022. The renowned politician celebrates his 38th birthday this year.

Kim Jong-un has been the supreme leader and dictator of North Korea since the year 2011 and he is also an important part of the Workers' Party of Korea since 2012 being its leader.

The late father of Kim named Kim Jong-il made great impressions in North Korea by becoming the 2nd supreme leader from the year 1994 and served the country until his death in 2011. Kim succeeded his father in 2011 and became the new supreme leader.

Kim was born on 8 January 1984 in the capital city of Pyongyang, North Korea. He got married to Ri Sol-Ju in the year 2009 and had one child named Kim Ju-ae. Kim is the grandson of the first Supreme leader and founder of North Korea, Kim ll-sung who died in the year 1994.

Kim has completed his schooling at the International School of Berne in Gumligen of Switzerland and in 2002 he went to National War College in Pyongyang for further studies from where he passed out in 2007.

In the year 2009, the name of Kim was listed as a candidate for the Supreme People's Assembly and got the powerful position of NDC (National Defense Commission). Kim was soon regarded by the people as a 'Brilliant Comrade' and by the month of June in 2009, he became the head of the State Security Department.

In September 2010 Kim had successfully made his way in getting the high rank and reputed honour of 4-star general without any military experience. In the next year with the death of his father, Kim was announced as the Supreme leader of the country.

Kim holds various positions throughout his life including Chairman of the Central Military Commission, General Secretary of the Workers's Party of Korea, members of the Presidium, Pulitburo of the Workers' Party of Korea and the important post of President of the State Affairs Commission.
