Santiago: A man's fortune turned upside down overnight after he was treated with a miracle and he would surely not have imagined in his wildest of dreams that something like this could actually happen to him. In an astonishing incident, a man's luck was so good that he was accidentally paid 286 times his salary last month. Not only did he resign from the company, but he was so delighted that he did not bother to show his face ever again and completely vanished into thin air. His sudden disappearance came after he promised his employer that he would positively return the amount that was paid in excess. By doing so, he has proved that promises are indeed made to be broken. The man worked at Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos (Cial), one of the largest producers of cold cuts in Chile. According to local media, he was supposed to get 500,000 pesos (Rs 43,000) from the company but was overwhelmed after he ended up receiving 165,398,851 Chilean pesos (Rs 1.42 crore). Surprisingly, the employee had contacted a deputy manager in the human resource department to report the error in payment. After the company's management checked their records, they confirmed that the employee had been mistakenly paid about 286 times his monthly salary. The employee was asked to return the money paid in excess. The worker allegedly agreed to go to his bank to refund the amount that was paid in excess to him. However, he changed his mind and decided to back off. When the company did not receive a refund notification from the bank, they tried to get in touch with the employee - but their messages were not answered. The man later got in touch, claiming that he overslept and would visit the bank. However, the saga finally came to an end after he handed over his resignation on June 2 and has now reportedly disappeared. The company has taken legal action against the man to recover the money they accidentally transferred to the man. Also read: Airbnb Permanently Bans Parties At Its Rental Locations Also watch:
