The Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC) was constituted in 1986-87 as an autonomous Council of the Department of Science Technology & Environment, Govt. of Assam for implementation of some of the major programmes in the sectors of science & technology, remote sensing, energy (non-conventional & renewable sources) and environment as the institutional organization of the Department.

Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Scientific Officer. Desirous candidates can check all the job details of no of posts, age limit, salary, qualification, etc prescribed below:

Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for Junior Scientific Officer Vacancy:

• Science & Technology (for ASTEC) Category: A – M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics Or, B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engg/Electronics/ Instrumentation Engg./Computer Science/B.Sc (Agri)/ MCA Or, any Equivalent Degree in the relevant fields from a recognized University/Institution
• Environment (for ASTEC) Category: B – M.Sc. in Environmental Science/Zoology/Botany/ Geography Or, BE/B.Tech in Environmental Engg/ Civil Engg./Chemical Engg. Or. any Equivalent Degree in the relevant fields from a recognized University/Institution.
• GIS & Remote Sensing (for ASSAC) Category: C- M.Sc/M. Tech in Geo informatics/Geomatics/ Remote Sensing and GIS or any Equivalent Degree from a recognized University/Institution. Or, BE/B. Tech Geo informatics / Geomatics / Physical Sciences Or, any Equivalent Degree from in the relevant fields from a recognized University/Institution.

Desirable : 2 years of experience in the relevant field after completion of essential education qualification.

• For Category C : working experience in Geo Web Services/SDSS/MWRS/IOT/AI/DP/Big Data Analysis/Programming/ Coding in Python/Java/C/C++/VB etc.

3. While filling up the online application, candidates must mention their choice of Category.
4. In-service applicants must apply through proper channel. They also have to submit the application online and the scanned copy of forwarding letter has to be uploaded or to be submitted at the time of written test.

Selection Procedure for Junior Scientific Officer Vacancy:

The selection of the candidates will be based on the interview.

Selection process will be on two phases-

(i) Written Test and

(ii) Viva Voce.
