The Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC) was constituted in 1986-87 as an autonomous Council of the Department of Science Technology & Environment, Govt. of Assam for implementation of some of the major programmes in the sectors of science & technology, remote sensing, energy (non-conventional & renewable sources) and environment as the institutional organization of the Department.

Assam Science Technology & Environment Council Job Notification 2022:

Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for few vacant posts of Project Scientists on contractual basis for a period of 11 (Eleven) months under different projects such as IWMP/SIS-DP/NESAC Plan of Action projects/State sponsored projects etc. of Assam State Space Application Centre (ASSAC). Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for Project Scientist Vacancy:

M.Sc./M.Tech in Remote Sensing / Geo-informatics or PG Diploma in Remote Sensing/ Geo-informatics with 1st Class Master Degree in Science/Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Experience:

(a) Knowledge of Digital Image Processing and GIS software and GPS Geotagging

(b) Sufficient experience in Mapping with RS/GIS/GPS using satellite imagery.

Candidates having requisite qualification, experience and training will only be allowed for appearing in the interview.

Selection Procedure for Project Scientist Vacancy:

A walk-in-interview will be held on 1st March 2022 from 11 AM onwards in Assam State Space Application Centre, Bigyan Bhawan (3rd Floor), G.S. Road, Guwahati-781005. Registration will be started at 10 AM and closed at 11 AM
