Body of 4-year old recovered from the bank of Dolani River in Chirang

The deceased girl has been identified as Nikita Mondol (4), daughter of Nikhil Mondol, a resident of Basbari area of Bongaigaon district. Local people said that Nikita and her mother Anima Mondol had been living in her uncle Nripen Mondol's house at Baghmara since the last one month.

"In the afternoon of June 9, Nikita went out of the house telling me that she was going to watch TV in the neighbour's house. In the evening when she did not return we searched for her. She had not gone to the neighbour's house to watch TV. On June 10 we lodged an FIR on Bijni PS in this regard. Today we found her body on the bank of Dolani River," said Nikita's mother. Police sent the body for post-mortem.
