About Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS):

The AIDS Control Programme in Assam was started as a State AIDS Cell which was established in the year 1992 in the office of the Director of Health Services, Assam under the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) for implementing the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) Phase I. One State AIDS Programme Officer in the rank of Jt. Director of Health Services was appointed to run the programme and other officers and staffs were also appointed as per guideline. The State AIDS Cell of Assam had followed the National AIDS Prevention Policy, Govt. of India for implementing the AIDS Control Programme in Assam. The first phase of the National AIDS Control Programme came to its end in the year 1997 and was extended up to 1998.

Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for ASACS Job Vacancy:

Post Name	Educational Qualification
Counsellor (ICTC/PPTCT/STI/OSTC)	Post Graduate degree / diploma in Psychology / Social Work / Sociology/Anthropology / Human Development / Nursing; with minimum 1 year experience of working in the field of counseling in health sector, preferably in HIV/AIDS after PG degree/diploma. In case of people infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS, graduate in Psychology / Social Work /Sociology /Anthropology / Human Development / Nursing; with minimum 1 year experience after graduation in field of counseling in health sector; preferably in HIV/AIDS. Diploma in Computer Applications from a Govt. recognized institute. Candidates should be proficient to read and write in English and in local language.
Laboratory Technician (ICTC/PPTCT)	B. Sc in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) with minimum 2 years experience in the relevant field after graduation. Diploma in Computer Applications from a Govt. recognized institute. OR Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT); with minimum 3 years experience in the relevant field after diploma Diploma in Computer Applications from a Govt. recognized institute.
Data Manager (OST Centre)	Graduate (preferably with Commerce background) with Diploma in Computer Applications (from a Govt. recognized institute or university) or 'O' level course from DOEACC.
