About B. Borooah College

B. Borooah College Teachers' Unit, a constituent unit of Assam College Teachers' Association (ACTA), is the apex organizational body of the teachers of B. Borooah College. Being a constituent unit of ACTA, B. Borooah College Teachers' Unit, in short BBCTU, has been carrying out various plans and programmes of ACTA since its inception. BBCTU is primarily concerned with various issues and problems that plague the teachers of B. Borooah College. Apart from raising various demands of the teachers at appropriate fora, BBCTU has also been engaged in academic activities, students' welfare and the overall progress and development of B. Borooah College. As a part of its academic activities the BBCTU has published Quest, a collection of research articles culled from the minor research projects of many teachers. BBCTU was immensely pleased and honoured to host ACTA's celebration of AIFUCTO's Golden Jubilee in the college premises on 11 January, 2013. The chief guest of the occasion was Sjt. Tarun Gogoi, honourable Chief Minister of Assam; the guest of honour was Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, honourable Education Minister of Assam; special guest was Prof. B. Vijay Kumar, Secretary General, World Federation of Teachers' Unions; while the appointed speaker was Prof. Ashok Barman General Secretary of AIFUCTO.
