About RFRI Jorhat: Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI) is a research institute situated in Jorhat in Assam. It works under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
As of January 2022, there are a total of 51 members in this research institute, at present, there are three departments here, that are, the Department of Biotechnology, the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Entomology.

Candidate pursuing master's degree or in the initial phase of Ph.D. in forestry or ecology or environmental sciences
Selection will be based on academic achievement in university examinations (CGPA/ percentage of marks) and participation in academic/co-curricular competitions and other awards/distinction.
The training will be useful for all those working or wants to work in the field of Forest Mensuration and forest management. It will give the interns a hands-on research training to the Post-Graduate
students of Forestry/Ecology/Environmental Science on accurate measurement of standing trees for preparation of volume equations by using non-destructive methods. This will include measurement of height, DBH, diameter and length of main stem and every wood and branch segment at frustum of one meter, with the help of advanced tree measurement tools. Interns will also be trained in statistical analysis of data along with emphasis on developing scientific writing skill and publication of resulting research in high impacting journals.
