Regional Medical Research Centre, NE region (RMRC, The International Centre of Excellence) is one of the six regional centres of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and is located in Dibrugarh city at Lahowal. It covers the most remote and less developed, eight states of the north-eastern region of India and is responsible for carrying out Biomedical Research in the region. It was established in 1982 and runs with intramural grant from ICMR and extramural ad hoc projects from different funding agencies.
This premier Medical Research institute has been recognized as an "International Centre of Excellence" by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and Washington University of USA. The institute, in collaboration with Centre for Development of Advance Computing (CDAC), Pune, has been awarded the "MoSQuIT – mBillionth SAARC Countries Award 2013" recognized by The Grand Jury of The Billionth Award South Asia as an Award Winner for the year 2013 for inventing disease surveillance system for malaria using mobile platform.

Project Scientist C (Medical) | Post Graduate degree (MD) in Medicine/ Microbiology/ Pathology/ Epidemiology with one year R&D / teaching experience in the relevant subject from recognized university or Post graduate diploma in Medicine/ Microbiology/ Pathology/ Epidemiology with two years R&D/ teaching experience in the relevant subject from recognized university or MBBS Degree recognized by MCI or equivalent degree with 4 years R&D/ teaching experience in the relevant subject from recognized university Desirable Qualification: i) MD in Medicine/ Microbiology/ Pathology/ Epidemiology from a recognized University for candidates with first class relevant degree. ii) Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in Medicine/ Microbiology/ Virology/ Pathology/ Epidemiology in recognized institute(s). iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/ Data Management. |
Project Scientist B (Medical) | MBBS Degree recognized by MCI Desirable Qualification: i) MD in Medicine/ Microbiology/ Pathology/ Epidemiology from a recognized University for candidates with first class relevant degree. ii) Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in Medicine/ Microbiology/ Virology/ Pathology/ Epidemiology in recognized institute(s). iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools/ Data Management. iv) Two years R&D Teaching experience in Microbiology/ Virology after obtaining essential qualification. |
Project Scientist B (Non Medical) | i) First class master's degree in the relevant subjects of Life Sciences / Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics from a recognized university with 4 years R&D / teaching experience in the relevant subject after 1st class Masters degree or Second class M.Sc. in the relevant subjects of Life Sciences / Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics / Microbiology + Ph. D degree in the relevant subject from a recognized University with 4 years R&D / teaching experience in the relevant subject after M.Sc.+Ph.D. Desirable Qualification: i) Doctorate in relevant subject from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree. ii) Additional Post-doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in recognized institute(s). iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management |
