Eligibility conditions

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Candidate must be a holder of a degree in law, granted by a university established by law in India.

Candidate must not be more than 35 years of age as on the last date fixed for receipt of applications.

Candidate must be able to communicate in Nepali, or any other language of the State.

Candidate must have adequate knowledge in Computer applications to be tested at the time of viva-voce.

Examination Fee of HCS Gangtok Recruitment

Examination fees of Rs.600/- shall be payable in favour of the Registrar General, High Court of Sikkim, by way of Account Payee Demand Draft of any Bank, payable at Gangtok, and shall be submitted along with the application. The said amount is non-refundable.

How to Apply for HCS Gangtok Recruitment

Applications can be sent either by registered post or speed post but must reach the office of the Registrar General on or before 10.10.2022.

Application can also be submitted in the office of the Registrar General during the office hours latest by 10.10.2022 before 4.30 pm. The application shall be accompanied by attested copies of the following testimonials and three recent passport size photographs:

Certificate of educational qualification, i.e., School certificates, graduation degree and Degree in law.

Enrollment Certificate as Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.

Proof of date of birth.

Correct mobile/telephone number(s) along with e-mail address shall be submitted by the candidates along with their applications, to be used for communication by the Registry.

About HCS Gangtok

The Sikkim High Court is the High Court of the Indian state of Sikkim. The history of the court can be traced back to 1955, when the High Court of Judicature (Jurisdiction and Powers) Proclamation, 1955 was issued to establish a High Court in Sikkim. Upon merger, Sikkim became the 22nd State of India. Under Clause (i) of Article 371F, the High Court functioning immediately prior to the date of merger became the High Court for the State of Sikkim under the Constitution like any other High Court in the country. It was established in 1975.

The seat of the court is at Gangtok, the administrative capital of the state. With a sanctioned court strength of 3 judges, the Sikkim High Court is the smallest High Court of India.
