Project Associate | Master Degree in Agriculture specialized in Crop Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/Agri. Entomology OR Master Degree in Life Sciences specialized in Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/Plant biotechnology with NET/GATE/Equivalent OR PhD in Life sciences (Plant Physiology/Plant biochemistry/Plant Biotechnology). Work Experience: Working experience in stress physiological/ biochemical/molecular techniques under abiotic/ biotic stresses and expertise in statistical analysis/report preparation and drafting of research papers. |
Field Assistant | Bachelors degree in Science /Equivalent /Diploma in Science and Technology. Work Experience: Working experience in physiological/biochemical/ laboratory techniques on need basis and conducting field experiments and field survey in hill terrain. |
Selection and Application Process
Eligible candidates are invited to apply in the prescribed format and appear in the "Walk-In-Interview" for the recruitment of Project Associate-1 (PA-1) and Field Assistant (FA) posts under the ongoing DBT project purely on a contractual basis to be held on 27th September 2022 from 10.30 AM in the Committee Room (DSRE) of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam.

About ICAR Umiam
The ICAR Research Complex for Northeastern Hill Region (ICAR RC NEH) was established on 9th January 1975 under the aegis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). This is the first of its kind set up by ICAR, which encompasses all the disciplines of agriculture, horticulture, animal sciences, agricultural engineering, agroforestry, fishery and social sciences to cater to the research needs of the tribal areas of NEH Region including Sikkim. The headquarter (HQ) of the institute is located in Meghalaya (Barapani), while its regional centres are located at Basar (Arunachal Pradesh), Imphal (Manipur), Kolasib (Mizoram), Jharnapani (Nagaland), Lembucherra (Tripura) and Gangtok (Sikkim). The institute has 15 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) attached to different centres and HQ for providing on/off campus training to the practising farmers, school dropouts and farm women in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.
